Hold Tight

We are our own problem. We stand in the way of progress and in the way of righteousness. We allow our prides and egos to dictate our actions, but its leading to our destruction. We don’t think nor act like God, well, because He is God. We could never measure up and be or replace Him. Therefore we must obey and listen. We don’t ever know what’s on the other side of the door of our decisions. We especially don’t know whats on the other side of His commands, directions, or instructions. But we do know God only wants the absolute best for us. His intention is not to hurt or destroy those that love, honor, obey, or want to be near Him. he doesn’t want to destroy His creations, His very own.

Our destruction comes by our own hand, our disobedience, arrogance, and disloyalty. We have to forge thru the darkness that surrounds us to His marvelous light…which brings peace. There is that peace that resides, when you know although life is not perfect, you are living the life He gave you as He intended. We are living in line with His purpose for our life, our role in this world. I think we are suppose to just play our part no matter how big or small and God will reveal the place we fit in the whole landscape. We are to live each day doing the work we are set to do, moving past all distractions.

Distractions such as hate, gossip, arguing, back biting, television, food, social media, whatever it is, derails our rightful thinking and slows down our activity towards our goals, ideas, and/or dreams. Each step we make is toward something we cannot see that we could never have thought of for our lives or the lives around us. Commitment and consistency to the guidance, instruction given to us to do and walk out, brings about another piece of us and those around us that we could have never known or grasp for ourselves. Only God can reveal our true selves to us. He is our creator.

What I realized in my jump of faith, from one mountain to the other was that there was a valley in between the peaks. I fell down into the valley and I’ve got to work my way up the mountain. Unfortunately, I (we) didn’t (don’t) ever know what is (was) in the valley. Thus, I have know idea what mine fields to avoid or the path that gets me to my ultimate destination. God can only be our guide thru this unknown terrain.

Every mountain is different. The climb can seem impossible and dangerous, not only to you but to those around you. Especially those watching from the other mountain, who can never see or fully comprehend what’s in the valley. Some will cheer you on to see you make it to your destination. While, those who’s fear grips them call you back to where they are trying to squash your desire to move up and on. They themselves cannot comprehend the desire deep within to go after their purpose with full force, so they deny themselves and everyone around them the opportunity to answer the call on their lives. But God. God is truly instrumental in the valley. He is our navigator. He covers, heals, and protects us along the way. He guides into the deep. The deep of where He dwells and shows Himself in His fullness. He gets us far enough out to ignore the distractors from taking our focus off the goal and purpose at hand. The place where we are to create the trail that will allow others to do the same. He makes a way so we can be the way…for we are made in His image and likeness. He is the way, the truth, and the light. And so are we.

But I must be honest, my greatest fear is I don’t see what I held on for… God’s purpose and truth for my life. I don’t want to hear the wrong voice. The voice of fear, which keeps you from becoming who God has called us to be. I have said He makes no junk and He clearly has a plan for our lives. I said I wanted to see what He had in store for my life. I said this when I was a child caught between my parents hate and disillusion about their lives. I hold tight to my desire, so I hold tight to God.
