It’s Where You Are at
We can’t leave purpose to chase after self gratification. What is not intended for our lives will perish. It's like trying to fit a puzzle piece in the wrong place, it just won’t fit. The emptiness or void that we want to fill broadens from unfulfilled purpose growing at every step in the opposite direction of destiny. Sooner or later we become numb. Numbness tends to happen through hits of imitation. Each hit will desire a bigger and better imitation of purpose in order to for us to continue to numb out the voice of destiny that is chasing us down.
Our run becomes exhausting, thirsty, unfulfilling, and empty. We feel like we are running in place, with weights to our feet and quick sand all around. The imitation of purpose in the form of money, drugs, sex, food, self being and doing will continue to aggravate us as we increase in it because it wants us to give into the same delight and high as the first hit, which, unbeknownst to us, we will never feel again. The only thing that will satisfy our hunger, quench our thirst, put us at peace, is our submission. Our submission to purpose. Our submission to the deep that has been calling to us. Our submission to living our life to the fullest. It is all about our openness to allowing our destiny, purpose, and patience have its perfect work in our lives.
How do we, you ask? Trust. Trust in our creator. Things of God are not of this world, He is not microwave. Things of God are faith based. He is the epitome of long standing, strength, focus, trust, truth, endurance, peace, and much more that is good and excellent. We fight to be who He intended us to be. It may not seem like an easy task especially when everything around us says to do what pleases us. But I submit that pleasure (please you are), created by God, is far better, especially, when we are pleasing in His sight.
There may be storms, but despite the storms, He is our covering in this large world. There is so much we can choose to do and become. We are constantly bombarded by things that are seemingly not beneficial and distracting from true purpose and destiny. Purpose and destiny can sound and look like a lot of hoopla when the things that are distracting seem to be more tangible. But what is really tangible and long lasting? Some things that can be had need to stay in the glass container, just to look at, because what may seem right and proper is not always so.
However, our trust in God helps us discern what is right for our journey. What we do now becomes the foundation for our future. But, when we look at our current situation as our future condition we can get confounded and stuck. We must understand that our current steps lead to the path of our future. Although the things of our future are beyond us, our trust in God for our future, allows us to manifest the preordained destiny for our lives. Our purpose is entangled with the steps ordained by God. The Word says “the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord”.
So, what are the current things in our lives that don’t seem glamorous? What are the things we believe are a waste of our time? Could it be the thing that is shoring up our foundation?
What I am saying is this, continuous working of this muscle of faith, will build our strength and create the physique we saw, didn’t know how to get, and desired. It’s not the instant gratification that is the final say so, because that fades once obtained. It’s the continuous working on what God has set before us that seems to stand still. We have to be thankful for our foundation. In our thanks we can reflect on where we started and where we are at. In our moments of gratitude we will see the gradual increase of consistent work and perseverance. We will see God’s hand.
To God be the Glory! Be Blessed!
