It's About You

So a thought crossed my mind...do we all know what we are supposed to know? Do we know the basics in life? Basics to survival, basics to grooming, or even the basics to just being. Even those closest to us don't realize they are just as lost as we are. No one person has the answer, but together we know so much. We learn from experience. We just have to have open communication with the women in our lives, our mothers, aunts, grandmothers, sisters, and friends, in order to get the information we need to live life to the fullest. Every little bit of information we get adds up to good information. Like good information on how to live a healthy life, beginning with hygiene.

I’m not just talking about taking a bath or shower, washing your hair or putting on deodorant. Which I hope everyone is doing. Hygiene has to do with your internal as much as your external. Much of what we put in us ends up on our outside. From the food we eat to the supplements we take, whether good or bad it shows up on us in various ways. Kiwi Families state,

“Women’s hygiene is so important for many reasons:

Our own personal health depends upon a level of cleanliness to keep us free from disease, such as skin diseases, respiratory diseases or gastrointestinal diseases.

Factors such as sweating, menstruation (having your period) and vaginal discharge make personal hygiene vital, to prevent body odor and to maintain health.

As carers, women prepare food for others, clean for others and carry out personal hygiene for children. This means that women are at risk of spreading germs and hence disease.”

Our hygiene is not just about us or just for our benefit but also for those around us. We affect those around us more than we know. Because we care we tend to share...maybe too much. But let’s focus back on us as individuals, because it is our health.

We have an obligation to ourselves to live the best life possible. We can only do so when we take care of our mind, body, and soul. Balance in our lives and body creates harmony. So how do we achieve the basics? Where can we start? Only you can answer that question. You have to take a look at you and be realistic about who you are and what you do. Ask yourself, do any of the things that I do benefit or increase my life? If the answer is no, seek ways to correct what is causing you stress. Yes, stress.

Stress definitely works against balance. Stress affects the mind, body, and soul. That’s not what we should want or need. Peace is what we all should be seeking. But not the peace that the external wants to give with external things. I don’t know about you, but I want peace that is internal and exudes all. So I choose to constantly grab hold of my peace which is greater than the outside. I want and hope that for you also. In fact, I hope we can do it together. I would love to share more. Stay tuned for some examples of balance that can be created to reduce unnecessary stress.
